Help us help others…

We’re a non-profit organisation providing emergency food relief, low cost food through community food centres and an op shop.

Second Harvest

Second Harvest was originally founded in 1982 to coordinate the purchase, storage and distribution of food lines to community food centres and welfare agencies.

Second Harvest is unique to Western Australia and is a registered charity with tax deductibility status.

Second Harvest supports a network of 2 metropolitan Food Centres in WA. These Food Centres are not for profit and are run by volunteers. The network of Food Centres helps to break the cycle of poverty by providing low-cost foods and groceries to those in need. These are not considered handouts as Second Harvest buy and sell foods and give shoppers the dignity of choice.

Emergency Relief

One of our core services is providing emergency food to those in need.

Our Team

Meet the team of staff and volunteers that are the heart of Second Harvest.

What we can’t do alone… We can do it together!

In 2009, Second Harvest diversified into Emergency Relief funding provided by LotteryWest and which is distributed through the food centre network. This has enabled it to commence assistance within nominated Maternity Hospitals providing hampers for needy families.
